Since 1995, Stag’s Hollow has been a fixture in the Okanagan. Known for unique varietals and boundary pushing wines.
The Simply Noir has always been a blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay, occasionally with small percentages of other varietals blended in. The Pinot Noir component dominates both the aromatics and palate, with notes of ripe cherries, cinnamon, raspberry and cola. The Gamay lends its typical juiciness, and the Merlot and Dolcetto a little extra body. It is an extremely versatile wine suitable for a wide variety of foods and situations, at the table or on the patio, slightly chilled.
Simply Noir shows an abundance of cherry, raspberry, red licorice and florals, balanced by an intoxicating earthiness. Juicy red fruit and dried herbs dominate the palate, which is complemented by the wines bright, acidity, gentle tannin structure, and enticing minerality. A great Bistro red that could be chilled a little before serving–the perfect spring and summer red, with or without food.
